We are taking a moment to step away from all the current stories of theatre closures to seek some distraction in celebrating legendary composer/lyricist Stephen Sondheim’s 90th birthday. So we’ve picked FIVE of our favourite performances from previous concerts, from the divine Barbara Cook’s rendition of ‘Losing My Mind’ to Mandy Patinkin and Bernadette Peters giving an iconic rendition of ‘Move On’ from Sunday In The Park With George. Oh, and Patti LuPone, Elaine Stritch and Simon Russell Beale might make an appearance too. Hope you enjoy and do let us know your favourites too.

Is there a bigger American TV tradition than Saturday Night Live!? The show not only brings the funny every week, it peppers in plenty of sketches for the Musical Theatre geek! It's been a few years now since this sketch, but we think it's as funny as ever. From the Phantom trying to run the meeting to Elphaba lamenting her narrow casting bracket, this is worth a watch for any musical geek!

Our #FirstNightTakeover series continues with Perry O'Bree at the world premiere of wacky American musical It Happened in Key West at London's Charing Cross Theatre. How much love is there for this life-and-death romantic comedy? What did stars Alyssa Martyn and Wade McCollum profess? (And spot #stagey blogger Charlotte O'Growney with Perry at the interval!)

We're counting down to the world premiere of US musical comedy IT HAPPENED IN KEY WEST. Earlier this month, the stars gave a little sneak-peek at Crazy Coqs cabaret at Brasserie Zedel and we got our hands on these even sneakier videos (filmed and shared with permission, of course!). We can't wait to see all the shows sung in their full-fledged, in-situ glory once performances start at the Charing Cross Theatre on 4 July... (Psst: Have you entered our competition yet?)
